Robert De Niro is now one of the many major film industry figures who are owed large sums of money by the Weinstein Company. De Niro claims that he has not been paid $940,000 due to him for his Oscar-nominated work on Silver Linings Playbook, the 2012 romantic comedy backed by the Weinstein Company. His claim is part of the Weinstein Company’s bankruptcy proceedings, as a result of which Hollywood A-listers including Meryl Streep, George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino say they are owed considerable amounts. Streep and Clooney say they were not paid for work done on August: Osage County and Tarantino claims the Weinstein Company owes him nearly $4 million.

The Weinstein Company is currently selling its assets to private equity firm Lantern Capital and recently announced it was dropping the purchase price by $23 million to $287 million to complete the sale, reports The Guardian. This move set off alarms among creditors, who are now worried they won’t get the payments they are owed once their contracts are transferred to Lantern.
