Juno and Up in the Air director Jason Reitman announced he’s been secretly working on a Ghostbusters movie. Now we have a teaser trailer to obsess over.
The clip opens with a wide shot of a dark barn as flashes of blue and purple emanate from within. The classic Ghostbusters library music creeps in and the camera moves in on fabric rustling inside the barn.
As we enter into the barn, the original film’s classic score blares as the canvas blows up, revealing the Ecto-1, the legendary Ghostbustermobile, stored inside of the farm building.
The new Ghostbusters film, a direct sequel from the original film, will be released during the summer of 2020, Variety reports.
The new sequel will be a direct continuation of the Reitman’s father’s original Ghostbusters film. Ivan Reitman directed the original movie which was released in 1984 and starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Harold Ramis.
There’s no word yet about casting and if any original Ghostbusters will return for the sequel.
