The Great Red Spot is ready for its close-up.
NASA recently released the closest photos to date of Jupiter’s Great Red Spot — as its JUNO probe passed above the famous astronomical marvel.
The space agency’s JUNO spacecraft completed it’s 53-day orbit around the planet on July 10, passing about 5,600 miles above the crimson cloud tops.
The raw photos taken by the spacecraft’s cameras with red, green and blue filters (posted on the camera’s website, were processed together to create the detailed and color rich images.
