At least one person close to president-elect Donald Trump believes in climate change:

Arnold Schwarzenegger, adjunct host of Trump’s NBC reality series, The Apprentice.

Speaking to BBC News in Paris, the former Govern(at)or of California, one of the m0st vocal advocates for curbing carbon emissions within the Republican Party, asserted that slowing climate change begins at the level of the individual.

“I have seen many body-builders and (weight) lifters that are vegetarians,” he said. “My friend recommends stop eating meat. I think that’s a good idea but people won’t buy in … People will buy in to stop eating meat one or two days a week — you have to start slowly.”

Farming accounts for around 28% of greenhouse gas emissions around the world. Combined with emissions from forestry and fisheries, that figure has doubled in the last 50 years, and will continue to climb without effective regulation.

Schwarzenegger’s recommendation echoes the “Vegan Before Six” mantra long espoused by New York Times columnist Mark Bittman, who argues that simply cutting meat and dairy out of our diets before six P.M. could severely curb the impact of large-scale farming on the environment.

If you’re in need of any more resolutions, now’s as good a time as any to put the plan into action.
