Iconic Italian filmmaker Bernardo Bertolucci told the crowd at the Bari International Film Festival that Ridley Scott “should be ashamed” for removing Kevin Spacey from the film All The Money in The World. Last fall, Scott swiftly dropped Spacey and reshot the film with Christopher Plummer in his place after numerous allegations of sexual assault against the original star surfaced. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bertolucci, who was in Bari for the premiere of a restored version of Last Tango in Paris, said that he wanted to make a movie with Spacey. Although Bertolucci also spoke of his support for the #MeToo movement, the director himself has been accused for years of misconduct on the set of Last Tango in Paris. Bertolucci and Marlon Brando did not tell actress Maria Schneider the details about a traumatic rape scene prior to shooting it with her, an accusation by Schneider that Bertolucci has confirmed, but for which he has not expressed regret.
