The RS e-tron GT is one of Audi’s quickest cars ever, but also seats five. Go figure.

The conversation around electric vehicles has been steered by a few key players, including Tesla (for its sales dominance and opinionated CEO) and Ford (for its electrification of the nostalgic F-150 and Mustang brands), and to a lesser extent Hyundai (for its exciting EVs, including those from its siblings). Meanwhile, there’s one company that doesn’t make the headlines nearly as often, but has in fact produced one of our favorite cars of the year. Not just favorite electric cars of the year, but favorite cars. Period.

The superstar in question is the Audi RS e-tron GT. When our automotive tester reviewed the stunning EV earlier this year, he wrote that this “isn’t just the best Audi you can currently buy, it’s also one of the strongest across-the-board choices for anyone seeking top-end transportation with personality, style and grace.”

In a lucky twist of fate, Omaze is currently in the process of giving away a fully loaded Audi RS e-tron GT. When we say “fully loaded,” we’re alluding to the included Year One package, a collection of upgrades celebrating the car’s debut, such as unique 21-inch, five-spoke wheels, carbon-ceramic brakes with red calipers, as well as a number of carbon fiber accents, including the roof. In short, it’s even more luxurious than the one we tested ourselves (which was certainly no slouch).

The deadline to enter the sweepstakes is fast approaching in under two weeks: You only have until October 14 to put your name in the hat, with a winner being announced soon after, around November 2. To give you a leg up, we scored you a special deal: Use code INSIDEHOOK50 when you enter this (or any other!) Omaze giveaway, and you’ll get 50 extra entries.

Four doors doesn’t preclude this Audi from a sub-three 0-60 time.

Intrigued? You should be. The beauty of the RS e-tron GT is its combination of previously unheard-of performance with legitimate practicality. Is this Audi’s quickest sedan ever, with a frankly ludicrous 0 to 60 mph time of 2.9 seconds? You bet it is. But we did say this is a sedan, so we’re talking four doors, seating for up to five, a legitimate trunk, and even some frunk space (that’s the front trunk, because this is an EV, meaning there’s no internal combustion engine hogging that area). So while other sub-three-second speedsters are often working with two doors and zero day-to-day utility, this is a car that can pick up all your kids from school and stop for groceries on the way home. Just picture it: coworkers and your kids’ teammates alike fighting for a spot in the carpool…

We digress. This is an electric car after all, and considering you, the one interested in winning this vehicle, have likely never owned an EV before, you may be wondering how practical it would be to add the RS e-tron GT to your garage.

In the almighty range department, the RS e-tron GT is rated at 232 miles, which is somewhere in the middle of the pack in terms of EVs being offered today. It’s not at the top of the class by any means, but it’s also plenty of juice to satisfy the needs of the average driver (as the average American puts in something like 36.9 miles a day). While the Audi lags a bit in terms of range, it makes up for it in the speed of charging. If you need to fill up at a DC fast charger, the RS e-tron GT can go from 5% to 80% charge in just 23 minutes, and if you want to get in and out even faster, the EV can add just over 60 miles of range with a five-minute charge.

It’s fast on the road and fast at the charger, which is why, if you were to buy this car yourself, you’d be looking at a bill around $164,862 (the seductive Year One package significantly ups the price here, too). If you want to do that, by all means be our guest. If you want to win one instead, Omaze is here for you.
