Seattle-based Flux Design Co. is here to show us what happens when you slap ATV-grade wheels on a skateboard. Designed to allow riders to “surf the earth,” the Track 1 has a rugged deck made of carbon fiber and Kevlar that’s supported by two monstrous front wheels and a tank treads in back.

Yes, you heard right. There are also tank treads in the back.

Made from a proprietary mixture of polymers and aerospace composites, the lightweight tank track has the equivalent traction of a 30-inch wheel and was developed over a number of months. The innovative combo of tires and tank-like treads offer a riding experience that blends skateboarding and snowboarding and gives the rider superior thrust and carving opportunities.

The lightweight Track 1 has a top speed of more than 20 MPH and a range of 12 miles thanks to its rechargeable battery. It’s also equipped with LEDs for riding at night, is usable in wet conditions and includes a set of removable handlebars and foot bindings for stand-up riding.

“We’re proud to have created the world’s first all-season tracked e-board — Track 1 — which was built to do what no other board could do — ride serious terrain,” said Flux Design founder Michael Menendez. “We wanted to create the most versatile and compact all terrain board to simplify experiences such as having fun in fresh snow, trails, sand and dirt.”

Now funding on Indiegogo, the 60-pound ride is being offered for $2,000, a $1,000 discount.

Tread lightly. Or, y’know, don’t.
