The Tesla Model X just unleashed the vehicular equivalent of a second-string sophomore wide receiver out-lifting the entire football team at the annual bench-a-thon.
A Qantas 787 Dreamliner should be an immovable object, especially for an electric production passenger vehicle, but earlier this month on the tarmac at Melbourne Airport, Tesla’s luxury SUV towed the Boeing-made jet nearly 1,000 feet.
Numbers? The Dreamliner weighs close to 145 tons. This is a car that seats seven, towing an airliner that seats 236. It earned the Tesla a Guiness World Record for heaviest tow by an electric vehicle, and perhaps the slightest bit of embarrassment for any who’ve only been using their Model X to pick up a new carton of milk.
Watch the tow in its full-on absurdity above.
