When traveling, comfort is truly key. So those looking to make a cross-country road trip anytime soon should seriously consider Elemment’s Palazzo (i.e. “palace” in Italian), a concept RV that delivers on its name.
The 44-foot-long concept is more of a mobile home than a recreational vehicle, and will be built on a chassis used for Volvo trucks and powered by a 500 hp engine. Once it hits the market, it will certainly be the world’s most expensive mobile home ever built. Inside, it has everything you’d dream a palace on wheels would: a spacious lounge area, kitchenette, luxe master bedroom with a king size bed, half-bathroom, separate 16 square-foot shower room, and retractable sky lounge.
Wrapping all that luxury into a stylish package isn’t easy, so Luigi Colani, the concept’s designer, certainly had his work cut out for him. Known for his extensive work with Fiat and BMW, Colani left some of his trademark elements on the RV’s exterior, such as the bulbous second-floor cockpit. However, the Elemment Palazzo’s interior is customizable to each customer’s preference.
Among the amenities that come standard, the sky lounge is the most unique. Partial walls automatically rise from the body to create an enclosed deck with lounge furniture, radiant floor heating, and a sound system. Like many other luxury RVs, the Palazzo features expanding walls that double the width of the living space to 16 feet. In total, there is 732 square feet of living space across the mobile mansion’s two floors.
Marchi Mobile, based in Austria, says it’ll be ready to manufacture this luxurious concept once its found interested parties. The final product will have a price tag of $3 million. For further information on the Palazzo, click here.
