On the sunglasses scale, where on one end you can find the trendy designer shades that you’d hate to lose and on the other are the throwaway pairs that may or may not actually have UV protection, we like to come down somewhere in the middle. We’re talking your Ray-Bans and Persols and, due to a recent entry into the category, your Shinolas.

The Detroit company you know for watches and leather goods has officially entered the timeless sunnies arena. Shinola has put its name on collab sunglasses before, but this is the brand’s first totally original in-house line, and they’re obviously trying to steal the lunch of the classic brands. The first drop includes three different styles that are all variations on silhouettes and hues you’ve seen before, as well as a couple strain-reducing blue light options, but with Shinola’s signature touch.

So what’s on offer? There’s the rounded Bixby, which we like in the dark tortoise or translucent smoke gray; the blockier Mackinac, which offers a classic look in the black version and a lighter option in the Havana amber; and the Rambler, which is their take on the aviator, and a must-buy in the blush amber style. Bonus: Shinola does free two-day shipping on orders over $95, and since these are all $295, if you order now you’ll get these before the next summer weekend.
