Chris Paul in Houston. Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward in Boston. Melo and Paul George in OKC.

There is no shortage of shiny new things to look forward to this NBA season.

Also on the list? An expansion of NBA Digital’s partnership with virtual-reality streaming service NextVR. In an expanded package that starts this season, NBA Digital and NextVR will be live-streaming 27 games in an immersive 3D VR experience. The VR viewing schedule starts October 21st when the Dallas Mavericks visit the Houston Rockets, and all 30 NBA teams will appear by season’s end.

The VR broadcasts — which are available as part of NBA League Pass (full season is $200, single games are $7) — will have features like user-selected point-of-view, real-time infographics, stats floating within the field-of-play and behind-the-scenes access. Currently available for use with Samsung GearVR or Google Daydream headset (along with a compatible smartphone), the VR experience could expand to devices like the Oculus Go soon.

Also new this year is a platform called the NextVR Screening Room. According to NBA Digital, the new product will let viewers immerse themselves in a 360-degree VR environment so they can watch up to 13 NBA League Pass games live on a virtual movie theater-sized screen.
