WTF is it?
The Aero-X is a lightweight low-altitude hovercraft that handles like a motorbike.
So what’s it do?
Powered by a reliable rotary engine that runs on gas and can boost it to speeds of 45 MPH, the 785-pound hoverbike can carry two people over almost any terrain at a maximum height of 12 feet. A full fuel tank will last about 75 minutes.
Who makes it?
Aerofex, an aircraft design firm that wants to make personal flight affordable for individuals.
Is it in any way useful?
Besides being one of the coolest toys we’ve ever seen, the Aero-X — which can take off and land vertically without a runway — could be incredibly helpful for disaster relief, search and rescue operations and other such tasks in areas of the world where remote travel is difficult.
You’re just saying that to justify wanting one, right?
