Remember when James Bond kicked it up a couple notches in GoldenEye and got in a tank chase? And how you thought it was awesome but sort of far-fetched? It wasn’t. And that could be you.
On Sept. 18, Paris auction house Artcurial will be auctioning off a sizable collection from the Normandy Tank Museum as part of its “D-Day” sale. The collection was put together over 35 years by a tank specialist and enthusiast and his two sons.
The auction includes over 120 lots, and features a selection of tanks, armored vehicles, automobiles, trucks, bikes, and planes from the U.S. military and Axis forces. One of the highlights? A still-drivable Sherman M4 tank with a 105 mm Howitzers—perfect for resolving that dispute with your neighbor or just letting him know “who’s boss.” (It’s estimated to go for a highly reasonable $220,000–$440,000.)
