Some robots are smart enough to bring you beer and pizza.
Others have enough brains to hook you up with you gourmet food.
Then there are bots that are smart enough to explain the theory of relativity— like Professor Einstein.
Designed by Hanson Robotics as a 14-inch-tall robotic version of Albert Einstein, Professor Einstein can walk, talk and move his mustachioed face just like the the greatest physicist the world has ever known.
Using the accompanying Stein-O-Matic app, Professor Einstein can interact and play games with his owner as well as discuss the weather and answer questions in a way that puts Teddy Ruxpin to shame.
“Professor Einstein is the perfect anytime, anywhere study buddy,” according to Hanson. “He has the most lifelike and emotionally expressive face of any personal robot, ever. He can recognize what you’re saying and loves to chit chat.”
Sure, he’s a little creepy. What humandroid isn’t? His voice also sounds straight from the portals of hell. But as a educational learning aid, we can see it.
Currently available for $269 on Kickstarter, the bots should ship to U.S. customers in April.
