Anyone can agree there’s nothing like a little peace and quiet. How we achieve said equilibrium is another question entirely. While traditional notions of tranquility might invoke images of meditative discovery, French brand Satisfy Running has a different take. For them, peace and quiet “are the result of a kind of primordial hyperawareness afforded to us by long journeys in the mountains or trails.” Aka, true bliss comes from a trail runner’s high.
It’s no surprise, then, that they’ve teamed up with (relative) running newcomers Norda for a reimagined interpretation of the Candian brand’s 001 Trail Runner. After all, a shared pursuit of high-performance construction, sustainable practices and an eye toward design and aesthetics unite the two running-focused labels.
Crafted with a bio-based version of Norda’s Dyneema material — a breathable blend that’s billed as incomparably lightweight and virtually indestructible — the 001 sneaker features top-of-the-line tech throughout. The obligatory Vibram midsole properties cushioning, and the Litebase-infused sole plate boasts enhances performance at a 30% reduction in overall sole weight. Harsh and slippery trails are no match for the Megagrip rubber outsole, even in subpar conditions. A “Jadeite” colorway, coupled with a low-profile gum sole and reflective strips, make the 001 impossible to miss, and the co-branded detailing — like the peace tag seen below — add to the shared pursuit of peace & squiet.
The Norda x Satisfy Peace and Silence 001 Trail Shoe retails at $220 and releases Thursday, July 21 on Norda and Satisfy’s websites. If you’re interested in optimizing your outdoor running experience, keep tabs on the limited release; much like the duo’s previous releases, we can all but guarantee the trainer will sell out.
