Rumpl Original Puffy Blanket
This is probably the gift I’ll give most this year. These versatile, packable blankets are stuffed with recycled synthetic insulation and have fun patterned outers.
Give’r Gloves
I’ve owned a pair of these gloves for years and they’ve shown very few signs of wear. They’re made from durable goat leather with a light synthetic lining. They’re warm enough to wear on zero degree days, but I prize them most for their durability — they’re great for stacking wood.
Lululemon Surge Warm 1/2 Zip
Use the Surge as a base layer for skiing, a mid-layer on a chilly run, or over a polo at the office. The versatile layer is made from a lightweight polyester-spandex blend that wicks sweat, stretches and breathes.
Helinox Chair One
A good chair is a must-have for anyone who camps. The Chair One, is my favorite. It’s collapsible, packs easily into its carrying case, and supports up to 300 pounds.
Teva Ember Moc
There’s been a new trend of puffy camp shoes recently. Part slipper, part sneaker, the Ember Moc takes the cake. It has a durable rubber sole, comfortable EVA foam midsole, and a stylish quilted upper. My favorite part? The collapsable heal, which allows for hands-free slipping on.
Yeti M30 Cooler
Yeti has become as much about status symbol as cooling power, but there’s no doubt that their products perform. Of all the coolers in their line up, the M30 is the best for most people. The 30-liter capacity holds enough beer and food for an overnight and the unique magnetic opening makes it a breeze to access.
WESN QR and CB Keychain Accessories
I love everyday carry accessories and WESN makes some of the best. The titanium QR quick release and CB carabiner have become permanent additions to my keychain. The QR is definitely the most stylish and well built quick release I’ve ever seen. I use it to easily separate my car key from the rest of my keys when I’m on a run or going to the gym. And the CB has a minimalist spring-loaded design that makes it one of the most unique carabiners on the market.
Purist Mover Water Bottle
Fill the Mover with hot chocolate for a weekend escape and then use it as a water bottle during the week. No matter what you put in it, the unbreakable interior glass finish won’t hold on to flavors.
66North Snaefell Jacket
Iceland-based 66North makes some of the most durable and high-performance jackets on the market. The Snaefell is created from 3-layer Polartec Neoshell fabric, making it one of the most breathable and waterproof jackets you can buy. It’s great as an outer layer for any wet weather pursuits or throw a puffy under it and wear it skiing.
Gerber Fastball Knife
The Fastball is one of my favorite pocket knives. It has a sharp drop-point blade and a fast and smooth deployment. You can read more of my thoughts on the knife here.
Thermarest Compressible Camp Pillow
A good pillow is a key to a restful night sleeping in the backcountry. After years of testing, this is my favorite. It’s interior is made from closed cell foam that inflates as soon as you open the valve.
Granite Gear Crown2 60 Backpack
No matter if you’re a novice or experienced backpacker, the Crown2 60 liter is an excellent backpack capable of carrying days worth of supplies. At just over two pounds, it’s quite lightweight, but doesn’t sacrifice comfort or features. It has a fully adjustable hip belt and should straps and stretchy mesh front pocket, which is great for keeping wet clothes away from the rest of your gear.
Biolite Firepit
One of the most unique fire pits on the market, Biolite’s version features 51 air jets that inject the fire with oxygen creating a more uniform temperature and reducing smoke. You can control the size of the flames manually or wirelessly from your smartphone, which you can charge via USB from the integrated battery pack.
MSR Pocket Rocket 2 Stove
Easily the best bang for your buck camping stove on the market, the Pocket Rocket’s simple design has been imitated but never bettered. The tiny stove screws onto any butane or propane gas canister and boils a liter of water in just three minutes.
Gregory Miwok 24 Pack
This simple daypack is designed with hikers in mind. It has a ventilated back panel to prevent sweating and lots of small organization pockets.
Big Agnes Blacktail Hotel Tent
The Blacktail series remains as one Big Agnes’ longest-running tent series. The Blacktail Hotel features a massive, side-entry vestibule, double doors, a simplified symmetrical pole structure, and additional dry storage.
Headsweats Crusher Hat
This five panel hat is great for traveling athletes. It’s super lightweight with polyester hex mesh on the top, back, and sides, and foldable foam bill that “crushes” and forms back to its original shape.
Hobie Mirage Eclipse ACX Stand Up Pedal Board
The Mirage Eclipse is heavier and bulkier than a normal paddleboard but it’s also way faster and more nimble to use. Instead of paddling, you peddle and stear with the handlebars. Turning is all done by pulling a brake lever, which controls the rudder.
Grundéns Deck Boot
Unless you’re a fan of Deadliest Catch, you probably haven’t heard of Grundens. The Sweden-based brand makes some of the best deep sea fishing gear you can find, but their Deck boots are awesome for anyone who walks on slushy city streets.
Black Diamond Distance Spike
The Distance Spike features 14 spikes which have an optimized 8mm length, designed to provide excellent engagement on snow and ice. The spikes are made of stainless steel and are heat-treated for superior strength, corrosion and wear resistance.
Rab Microlight Alpine Jacket
Stuffed with 700 fill recycled hydrophobic down the Microlight Alpine features a combination of zoned micro and nano baffles to increase core warmth without inflating weight or bulk.
Klymit Traverse Hammock
Most hammocks are made from three panels of fabric. The Traverse only uses one, which makes for a unique looking hammock that doesn’t have any seams or stitching and is more comfortable to lay in.
Sitka Kelvin Lite Down Jacket
With a stretchy shell and lightweight and compressible 900 fill Primaloft Gold insulation, the Kelvin Lite is an awesome jacket for the coldest winter days. The jacket has a large hood but packs down and nestles into its own zippered hand pocket.
Front Runner Wolf Pack Storage Tub
Forget your standard storage tubs. The Wolf Pack is similar in size but made from high strength plastic and heavy-duty latches. Plus they’re stackable.
Maho Positano Sunglasses
The Positanos blends style with function. Polarized lenses and sweat resisting rubber on the temple means you can wear them on the trail. But they’re inspired by the lavish Italian Riviera, so you don’t have to take them off for aprés drinks.
