Status Audio has made some of our favorite high-end, low-price earbuds and headphones over the last few years. The NY-based brand is a favorite of the InsideHook office, and they tend to release new products that are on par with the bigger names in home audio at about half the price.
That trend continues with Flagship ANC, the brand’s first over-ear wireless active noise-cancelling headphones, available now and shipping December 1st. Not only are the headphones about $100-$150 cheaper than some name–brand releases, they’re an extra $40 off during this pre-sale.
Flagship features 35 hours of playtime, noise cancellation of up to 35 decibels of ambient noise, and a vegan-leather headband and earpads. Speaking of the latter, the oblong shape of those ear cups may look a little odd, but they’ll add a lot of comfort.
The headphones are foldable for easy storage, feature touch controls on the ear cups and offer a transparency mode so you can hear the outside world when needed. All pretty standard on your Bose and Sony models … but here? It’s just $159 to start.
Bonus: Everything else at Status is on sale too, including the brand’s excellent, non-ANC headphones, the BT One ($63, down from $120).
