The next Winter Olympics will be a little bit hotter than previous years.
The reason? Hilary Knight, the 27-year-old forward for the U.S. women’s national hockey team, who has her sights set on gold in PyeongChang (the women’s team have taken home consecutive silver medals in 2010 and 2014).
Maxim recently caught up with Knight, who talked about her team’s deal with USA Hockey, which saw the national team threaten to boycott the world championships if wages and support weren’t increased. “We dedicate our lives to training and performing at an optimal level and it’s hard to do that for a prolonged period of time without the appropriate amount of support,” she told Maxim.
The men’s magazine also asked Knight about her feelings about fighting. “Scoring two goals to win a game will hurt an opponent more than a punch in the face,” said Knight.
