England may have won on the World Cup pitch, knocking off Colombia in the Round of 16, but we feel fairly confident in saying Colombia was the winner away from the field.
Why is that exactly? Well …
In a similar vein, Brazil, we’d argue, will emerge as the winner after its much-hyped match against Belgium this afternoon, regardless of what happens on the pitch.
The reasons for that go by the names Carolina Cabrino, Izabel Goulart, Alessandra Ambrosio, Gisele Coria, and Larissa Pereira Firmino…and they all have Instagram accounts you can follow.
Even if some, or all, of these ladies don’t make it into the stands later today, we know they’ll be rooting for Brazil somewhere out there—and that’s good enough for us.

Carolina Cabrino

Her deal: A pop singer who grew up imitating Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion, Cabrino is married to Brazilian defender Marquinhos. Active on social media including Twitter and (obviously) Instagram, many of Cabrino’s posts are in Portuguese but she can sing in English.
Izabel Goulart

Her deal: Formerly the girlfriend of second-string German goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, Goulart switched to supporting her home country after Trapp’s squad was eliminated in Russia. There was a silver lining though: he proposed and the former Victoria’s Secret Angel and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model accepted.
Alessandra Ambrosio

Her deal: A longtime Victoria’s Secret Angel, Ambrosio was among People‘s annual “100 Most Beautiful People in the World” list in 2007. Ambrosio has modeled for other brands like Christian Dior and Ralph Lauren, and has appeared on TV shows like New Girl and Entourage and in films such as Casino Royale and Daddy’s Home.
Gisele Coria
Handle: giselecoria
Her deal: A friend of Ambrosio and her model pal Fernanda Motta, Coria popped up in a number of feeds on Instagram when she made it over to Russia for the World Cup. We don’t know too much else about her but, as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Larissa Pereira Firmino
Handle: larissa_pereira
Her deal: The wife of Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino, Pereira Firmino founded her own fashion brand, BeValen Store, which sells everything from dresses to sweaters to skirts. A mother of two, Pereira Firmino is an Instagram model and influencer and has almost 260,000 followers.
