Billionaire Richard Branson’s Daily Routine Is … Surprisingly Relatable

Well, aside from the metric sh*t ton of tea he drinks

Wanna be a billionaire?

You’ll need common sense. A love of social media and frequent, informal meetings. And tea. You must LOVE tea.

In a new blog post entitled “My (usual) daily routine,” Virgin Airlines founder Richard Branson outlined his not entirely ridiculous and somewhat relatable daily routine.

Some highlights:

Wake up at 5 a.m.: “Exercise and family time put me in a great mind frame before getting down to business,” Branson notes. The billionaire prefers an early tennis session or “a kitesurf.”

Get your emails done first: “I can work through my emails before most of the world logs on.”

Write your thoughts down: Branson updates his blog while watching the news. And carries a notebook. “My secret ‘life hack’ has also been to write it down!”

Share everything on social media: “I love logging onto Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram everyday and reading your feedback.” Note: If you are not Richard Branson, results may vary.

Drink approximately all the tea: “Talking 20 cups a day.”

Forget meetings, do lunch: “[I] would much prefer to lighten the mood with a shared meal.”

Forget eating alone, do group dinners: “Where stories are shared and ideas are born.” If that sounds a little too magical, hey, this is a guy who swears by Peter Pan.

Go to bed at 11 p.m.: “I need about six hours of sleep [to] do it all again.”

But if you truly want to emulate Richard Branson, maybe you should just rent a private villa at his Mallorcan retreat.
