In advance of the holidays, we’ve compiled a very brief list of pros and cons about the current state of Uber rides home from the airport:

Con: You can’t get a ride home in an Uber-like flying taxi … yet.

Pro: The Uber ride you can take home will be free.

As part of an ongoing partnership with American Express, Uber is willing to give cardholders in the U.S. two free rides from select major domestic airports through December 31st of this year.

The rides —  which must cost $65 or under — are being offered in Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD and MDW), Houston (IAH), Las Vegas (LAS), New York (EWR, LGA and JFK), Seattle (SEA) and Washington, D.C. (DCA and IAD) and must originate at the airport to qualify.

To get the discount, link your AmEx to your Uber account and make it the selected method of payment, then enter the promo code AMEXAIRPORT in the promotions tab before summoning a car. Once that’s done, Uber’s app should automatically credit $65 toward the trip.
