Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick might not have a job in the NFL but his jersey is still flying off store shelves.
Nike unveiled a new “Icon” jersey in his honor Wednesday and Kaepernick announced the collaboration on Twitter just days after he and Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid reached a settlement with the NFL in their collusion grievances, according to Bleacher Report.
For those true to themselves on and off the field. Proudly, unapologetically and against all odds. This is only the beginning. #TrueTo7 https://t.co/lIzn4MNB77@girlsclubny @JRFoundation @peaceplayers @PowerPlayNYC pic.twitter.com/1sf4Nogs4g

Since then, the embattled quarterback shared that the jersey is “out of stock.”
“Thank you to everyone that took the time out of their day to pick one up,” he wrote on Twitter. “I am humbled and appreciate all your continued support.”
Nike’s website describes the Kaepernick Icon jersey as “a celebration of those who seek truth in their communities, and those who remain true to themselves.”
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James wore the Icon jersey during Super Bowl week in early February before the jerseys were available for purchase for $150 but, as Kaep mentioned, have since sold out.
