A word of advice from Hungarian electrojet manufacturers Narke, who suggest the personal watercraft industry is well due for a sea change when it comes to the noisy gas-guzzlers the world currently knows and loves.
Meet their electrojet, which they do NOT call a jet ski, a 60-HP carbon-fiber watercraft that can hit 34 mph, a full five MPH over the top-out of the allegedly street-legal Vespa your correspondent drove in her 20s. Supported by a lithium-ion battery that can recharge in two hours, the Narke comfortably fits two passengers, but do note the 90-minute range before you head too far in one direction. It takes a long time to sail around the world.
The team behind the Narke includes electric boat designers and shipbuilders, and they hope to release the electrojet at the end of 2018. In the meantime, the public is waiting on pricing information. But if you have to ask, it doesn’t look good.
