We get it, Texas. Everything’s bigger in you.
Including a nearly 65,000-acre ranch named “Mesa Vista” currently on the market for a hope-you’re-sitting-down price of $250 million.
What can you buy for a quarter of a billion? An MLS franchise like the New York Red Bulls, for starters. How about a fleet of private jets? Or a private island?
But the Mesa Vista is a private island in its own. At least in an eastern Texas Panhandle sort of way.
Owned by eighty-nine-year-old American finance wizard T. Boone Pickens, the ranch has just about everything you could need for a life of over-the-top seclusion. Natural wonders: rivers and mesas out of an old Westward expansion painting, and man-made opulence: a two-story pub, art gallery, nine-hole golf course and 33,000 square foot lodge with a library, wine cellar and movie theater. Not to mention the pathetic 6,000 square foot guesthouse.
Oh, and there’s a private airport. So we ended up getting those planes after all.
Get your bid ready. The “Mesa Vista” looks to be a better purchase than that dubious Da Vinci.
