At his day job with S.F. industrial design studio Ink, Colin Jackson devises products uniquely engineered for the 21st-century man.
Wireless gaming headphones. Device-charging end tables. Marijuana humidors.
But for his latest project, he’s taking on something a little more accessible: the trusty weekender.
Hard-wearing and military-inspired, The Aviator — the first offering from Jackson’s Fraser Kit Co. — is a lightweight shoulder bag that keeps all your gear safe while providing just enough room for the necessities.
That name is no accident: for inspiration, Jackson looked to the utility of gear used by World War II pilots. His goal? A bag built to last, and one that would only get better with use.
Speaking of, this is a bag built for utility, so you’ll be able to transport all your tech stuff in safety (read: tucked into wool interior pockets, protected from spills and bumps). The outer is made from robust waxed duck canvas and locally sourced California Napa leather, with an authentic Tartan plaid lining the inner compartments.
Other compartments will let you shield your watches, stow your passport, seal off wet clothes or items, and keep your shoes where they belong: away from everything else.
Pick yours up on Kickstarter — and then start planning the rest of your weekends away.
