Nobody’s going to remember Buzz Aldrin for his walk down the runway at the Nick Graham fashion show.
The man’s an official Great American. Landed a spaceship on the moon. Walked on it, too. Fighter pilot, holder of an aeronautics doctorate from MIT. Before #goals was a thing, Buzz Aldrin was all of them.
So why give a sh*t that he walked Nick Graham’s show?
Buzz Aldrin is 87 years old, and he looks like a — What word can you give a living American hero? A badass? A boss? We’re not worthy, Buzz, of whichever descriptor is appropriate for a hero in a shiny silver bomber jacket.
Graham’s show, entitled “Life on Mars: Fall-Winter 2035,” also featured Bill Nye, as both catwalk model and narrator.
We don’t want to make too big a deal of this, but if you’ll allow us to make too big a deal of this, we’re happy to live in a world where a nearly 90-year-old astronaut gets his rightful place of pride as an aspirational figure. Who would you rather be: Buzz Aldrin or a 19-year-old from Estonia with aggressive cheekbones?
