Retired Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt introduced his first child to the world via social media and revealed that he has given her an electrifying name: Olympia Lightning Bolt.

The eight-time Olympic gold medalist came up with the name for the newborn baby with help from her mother, Bolt’s partner Kasi Bennett. She gave birth to the baby in May.

“Now we have started a new chapter together with our daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt,” the 33-year-old Jamaican athlete wrote on social media. “I look forward to what the future will bring for us but be reassured that I will be the ROCK for this family.”

Bolt retired from running after the 2017 World Championships in London following a hamstring injury. He still holds world records in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 4 x 100-meter relay.

The former champ gave soccer a try in the Australian A-League and scored twice in his debut for the Central Coast Mariners in a friendly match. But, after Bolt’s bid to be a soccer player ultimately came up short in 2019, he declared that his “sports life is over.”

Another Olympic champion, Serena Williams, named her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. in 2017.
