Thanks to controversial tweets he has posted that contain racist and misogynist sentiments, former San Francisco Giants first baseman Aubrey Huff won’t be in attendance when the team celebrates the anniversary of their 2010 World Series win this summer.
“Earlier this month, we reached out to Aubrey Huff to let him know that he will not be included in the upcoming 2010 World Series Championship reunion,” the Giants said in a statement emailed to The Athletic. “Aubrey has made multiple comments on social media that are unacceptable and run counter to the values of our organization. While we appreciate the many contributions that Aubrey made to the 2010 championship season, we stand by our decision.”
A sampling of some of the tweets the Giants likely found troubling:

In a tweet Huff had the sense to delete, he wrote talked about invading Iran and kidnapping women from the country. “Let’s get a flight over and kidnap about 10 each,” he wrote. “We can bring them back here as they fan us and feed us grapes, amongst other things…”
Though the original tweet is gone, Huff’s response to the backlash he received from it is still online.

Huff, 43, told The Athletic he was “shocked” and “disappointed” about the team’s decision. “If it wasn’t for me, they wouldn’t be having a reunion,” Huff said. “But if they want to stick with their politically correct, progressive bullsh*t, that’s fine.”
In a response to the team’s decision which he posted on Twitter, Huff defended his right to express his political views and said the team was wrong to suspend him for his “locker room humor” and public support of President Trump.

Huff played a key role on San Francisco’s 2010 title team, pacing the Giants with 26 home runs and 86 RBI, both team highs.
In addition to spending three years with the Giants, Huff also played for the Tampa Bay Rays, Houston Astros, Baltimore Orioles and Detroit Tigers during his 13-year MLB career.
