Picked 15th overall by the Redskins, quarterback Dwayne Haskins has been given the chance to establish himself as a cornerstone for Washington moving forward.
In five games as a starter, the 22-year-old has failed to do it, including during his first career victory on Sunday.
With Washington ahead 19-16 following a 39-yard field goal by kicker Dustin Hopkins, Haskins should have been on the field to kneel the ball down with the Redskins in victory formation against the Detriot Lions.
Instead, veteran Case Keenum took the game’s final snap as Haskins was nowhere to be found. As it turned out, instead of paying attention to the game he had just helped win, Haskins was taking a selfie with a fan.

“I was so hyped, I broke a water bottle,” Haskins said afterward. “I look up and we’re in victory [formation]. I thought the game was over with already, but I’ll get it next time.”
Overall, Haskins completed 13-of-29 passes for 156 yards one pick and one fumble in the win over the Lions.
Outside of the 17-yard completion he made to Terry McLaurin to set up the game-winning field goal, it was an unimpressive performance for Haskins, who now has two touchdowns compared to six interceptions on the season.
Even if he was playing well, taking a selfie in the stands instead of being on the field to seal a win would not be a good look. Considering how poorly he’s playing, it’s even worse.
