Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite linked to Jeffery Epstein, is rumored to have been a guest at an annual gathering of literary and Hollywood elites hosted by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Vice reported.
Called Campfire, the exclusive writers’ retreat is a highly secretive event attended by tech entrepreneurs and industry power brokers alongside celebrities each fall.
According to Vice, Maxwell was among Campfire’s 2018 attendees. Two fellow attendees reportedly confirmed Maxwell was at the event, while one added that the socialite had attended the annual gathering three times. Maxwell was reportedly accompanied by tech entrepreneur Scott Borgerson, who has denied rumors linking the two romantically.
The sources added that Maxwell, who is alleged to have played an instrumental role in perpetuating Epstein’s sex trafficking ring, did not attend the 2019 gathering last month.
News of Maxwell’s attendance at the exclusive event serves to further illustrate Epstein’s involvement with a massive network of wealthy elites, including tech moguls, royals, presidents and well-known academics.
Maxwell has yet to be charged or arrested for her rumored involvement in Epstein’s crimes, facing only civil lawsuits. The socialite has denied any wrongdoing and has kept a low profile in the wake of the Epstein allegations. Her current location is unknown, but recent reports claim she’s hiding out with another Epstein connection in Brazil.
Amazon reportedly declined Vice’s request for comment on Maxwell’s rumored Campfire attendance.
