Don’t be fooled by the calendar: it may be spring, but this renovated Swiss chalet has us one foot by the fire and the other doggedly struggling its way into a ski boot.
Amsterdam-based architecture firm SeARCH updated the existing structure of this traditional chalet in the Swiss Alps town of Anzère, which unfortunately for us tourists is a private residence.
The goal of the renovation was to declutter the facade and interior layout while retaining the classic chalet style of the building (gabled roof, solid wood structure, stone foundation). The result is a covetable three-level stunner of terraced concrete, wood and glass with an elevator-accessible garage built into the mountainside.
