Last year, NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski was instructed by his employer, ESPN, not to tip picks prior to them being announced during the NBA Draft by commissioner Adam Silver. Woj, as he’s known on the web, held up his end of the bargain … until NBA reporter Marc Stein of The New York Times began tipping picks on Twitter, beating Silver (and Woj and ESPN) to the punch.
That led to Wojnarowski hinting, hilariously, at the picks that were coming without announcing them outright.

Sadly, at least in some ways, Wojnarowski will not be thumbing through this thesaurus on Thursday as ESPN and the NBA have come to an agreement which will allow Wojnarowski and other reporters to tweet out team’s picks before they are announced by Silver during the draft broadcast.
The 2019 NBA draft will be held tonight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. ESPN’s broadcast of the event begins at 7 p.m. with the first pick to be made shortly thereafter. Wojnarowski won’t have to tip that one as the entire world knows the New Orleans Pelicans will be picking Zion Williamson out of Duke first overall.
Whether the Pelicans should have the right to select the college superstar is another matter entirely.
