Welcome back. First to-do on your 2014 checklist:
“Hang out with Morgan Freeman and President Clinton.”
Not actually a joke. The scholarly rumpshakers at CultureHorde are hosting a very special tribute concert to the late great Nelson Mandela with Red and Bubba, and you’re invited.
A one-night-only event at St. Paul the Apostle Cathedral, Freeman will recite Mandela’s early uprising speeches, letters to his wife while incarcerated and famous inaugural address. Plus: a performance by South Africa’s famed Soweto Gospel Choir.
Clinton will close the evening with a personal tribute.
Afterward, you’ll adjourn to a private reception on the cathedral’s high altar to schmooze with the participants. So you can ask Freeman what it was like to play Mandela, or Bubba what it was like to hang with him.
Tickets are very limited and reserved for CultureHorde members. However, they’ve opened up a block for InsideHook readers – just step right this way to grab one, entering “InsideHookAccess” as your invitation code and “Inside Hook” as the referring member.
Small price to pay for starting the year off proper.
