What do Eric Clapton, Kurt Cobain, Jerry Garcia, Pete Townshend, Eddie Van Halen, and Neil Young all have in common? They all use (or have used) Fender amplifiers. One of Fender’s best-selling models is the solid-state Blues Junior, which packs a 15-watt punch of output power and can fatten the tone of any number of guitars—whether it be a Stratocaster, Rickenbacker, or SG.
The company’s custom shop recently took the Blues Junior to the next level, producing a limited edition “80 Proof” version, whose cabinet—basically, everything that surrounds the electronics—is rendered from the solid oak of a reclaimed, aged whiskey barrel. The model is limited to just 100 units worldwide and is currently selling on eBay for about $2,000.00. You can also try buying one from a dealer here. Take a look at it below.
