Despite reports that embattled former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick was attempting to make a comeback at the company, its chairman, Garrett Camp, has told his employees otherwise.
Per the Wall Street Journal, Camp scripted a very blunt internal email that said, in part, “Travis is not returning as CEO,” and that the company is “committed” to track down a new chief executive to take his place. According to the Journal, the search process has been honed into three candidates, including the former GE CEO Jeff Immelt.
Back in June, Kalanick resigned following a spate of sexual harassment allegations (and subsequent firings) at the company, as well as questionable actions—like the now-infamous “Miami letter” and a videotaped argument with an Uber driver—by Kalanick himself.
