If you’ve ever wondered what it might be like to ride along as a rocket plunges down through sky to the earth, this is the closest you’ll likely to get. Over the summer, a group of skydivers in Arizona jumped out of plane along with a five-foot-tall model rocket and then tried to keep it spinning perfectly pointed downward as they swooped and dived around it while falling to earth.
As you’ll see from the video above, getting the rocket out the door was easy. Keeping it oriented straight down after one skydiver nudged it with his knee? Not so much.
