Within 24 hours of Eli Manning’s first game on the bench, the legendary New York Giants quarterback may have a new coach. Sources told ESPN is that Giants owner John Mara is considering firing Ben McAdoo after less than two years on the sideline. The final straw in a 2-9 disaster of a season was the coach’s mishandling of the decision to bench Manning, a favorite of the Mara family after leading the team to two Super Bowl titles. Mara publicly took responsibility for the callous manner in which Manning was informed that the team would give snaps to its two younger quarterbacks as it planned for a rebuild. But he was reportedly livid at the way McAdoo treated Manning, particularly during a season when the head coach seemed to alienate several of his players.
