The Saints might be marching some reinforcements into their receiving corps.
On Tuesday, ex-Cowboy Dez Bryant, former Seahawk Brandon Marshall, and journeyman receiver Kamar Aiken are expected to work out for New Orleans.
Just because those players work out for the team it doesn’t mean the Saints will be signing any of them, but New Orleans could use help at the position as breakout star Michael Thomas and rookie third-round draft pick Tre’Quan Smith are the only healthy receivers with double-digit receptions this year currently on the roster.
Behind Thomas and Smith, Alvin Kamara (51 catches) and tight end Benjamin Watson (26 catches) are the team’s best receiving options so the addition of Bryant, Marshall or Aiken could make sense.
Bryan, who had 69 catches for 838 yards and six touchdowns last season, turned down a three-year contract offer from the Baltimore Ravens before the season and has been looking for a lucrative one-year deal.
As of now, that has not materialized but perhaps that will change on Tuesday.
Winners of seven in a row, the Saints are 7-1 and will take on the Bengals this weekend.
