Watch This Flying River Taxi Zoom Through Paris

The world’s top tech executives are converging on Paris this week for VivaTech, and they’re bringing the future with them.

Inventor Alain Thebault created the SeaBubbles project several years ago in an attempt to make all-electric, emission-free river taxis part of normal life—just like Uber or Lyft. But bureaucratic red tape and river speed limits have kept the taxis from becoming a mainstay, so Thebault has to settle for showcasing the vessels during the conference, which runs Thursday through Saturday.
