South Korean President Moon Jae-in said President Donald Trump should win a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end the standoff with North Korea over its nuclear weapons program, reports Reuters.

“President Trump should win the Nobel Peace Prize. What we need is only peace,” Moon told a meeting of senior secretaries, according to a presidential Blue House official who briefed media.

On Friday, Moon and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un pledged to end hostilities between the two countries, as well as work towards the “complete denuclearization” of the Korean peninsula. It was the first time any leaders of the two countries had met in more than a decade. Trump is also preparing a summit with Kim, which he has said will take place in the next three to four weeks. According to the South Korean official, that summit was the main subject of a private walk and chat that Kim and Moon had during their meeting at the border.

Moon has previously created Trump with the inter-Korean talks. In January, he said, Trump “deserves big credit for bringing about the inter-Korean talks. It could be a resulting work of the U.S.-led sanctions and pressure.”

Moon made the Nobel Prize comment in response to a congratulatory message from Lee Hee-ho, the widow of late South Korean President Kim Dae-jung. During her message, she said Moon deserved to win the prize in recognition of his efforts, but Moon responded Trump should get it. On Saturday, during a phone call, Trump told Moon that he was pleased the leaders of the two Koreas reaffirmed the goal of complete denuclearization during their summit, reports Reuters.
