Maker's Market: Leather and wood and everything good

Maker’s Market did the impossible when they recently opened their doors in Union Square:

Lured us into a shopping mall (for something other than shame-eating a Cinnabon).

Tonight, they celebrate putting a ring on it — or in this case, signing a long-term lease — with their grand opening party (free tickets here).

We’ll be stopping by.

As should any man who appreciates things that were made by hand. Things other people don’t have.

Leather things. Kitchen things. Accessory things.

Four such things that we might take home:

Joshu+Vela
We’re forever fans of this Mission brand. Your correspondent already slings their multi-pocketed Utility Tote in navy, which ought to nicely complement this waxed cotton duffel.

Go Forth Goods
Speaking of duffels, the Gunnar is a stunning piece of leatherwork, with a slouchy shape inspired by military carry-alls — except done here with hyper-luxe materials.

Carnevale Clay
As we’ve discussed previously, ladies love a man who’s confident in the kitchen and equips accordingly. It can be hard to find ceramics that aren’t overly feminine, but this stoneware bowl with a food-safe interior has just the right amount of grit.

Future Glory
iPhone sleeves are usually terrible. These ones — in chevron-stitched leather — are decidedly not.

Now go get some things.
